Disappearing into thin air
Guard Rail Shadow
At 6:20 this morning when I went outside to get the newspaper, I noticed two things right away.  The first was that the temperatures were quite pleasant, and the second was the big hot air balloon floating at a distance over the houses across the street.  I rushed in to get dressed in my walking clothes, and I emerged from the house just in time to snap a picture of the balloon dipping below the trees.

I have a busy day today, so a walk in the neighborhood in cooler temps was pretty much a given.  I chose the hilly route, walking into a subdivision called Jordan Preserves that is attached to my community.  It has a main entrance along Rt. 144, where one of the historic National Road mile markers is located.

We had a stare down.
I think I will be doing a lot of these early morning walks, just to beat the heat.
