Day 12 - San Antonio Neighborhood

Today is scheduled to be a very busy day, so I took my walk early while it was cool and cloudy outside, right here in my daughter's San Antonio neighborhood again.  This morning the cable guy came, and this afternoon the furniture van will finally arrive (five days late) and the new furniture we bought will be delivered.  It promises to be a very busy day.  I am using the new Internet connection -- hooray!

I have been hoping to see some new and different flora and fauna here in Texas, and so far, the birds have disappointed me.  I've seen plenty of starlings, grackles, doves, and mockingbirds.  I was so hoping for a magpie.  Maybe another day.

There have been some cacti along the roadsides, but here in the neighborhood, the most exotic thing is what I call a comb palm.  On other walks, I have seen bougainvilla and other flowering plants, such as lantana and some I don't know.

I knew there would be some rather mundane walks and mundane photo days, and this was one.

This is a different way of illustrating
"The grass is always greener on the other side."

  1. That palm plant is gorgeous! I wonder if we can grow those here? Maybe in a pot that you can take inside in winter...?
